Detective series about two brothers with nothing in common that have an agency together. The two brothers, Rick (Gerald McRaney) and A.J. (Jameson Parker), operate out of San Diego. A.J. is a prim and proper preppy, while Rick is a Vietnam vet who dresses like a cowboy and lives on a houseboat on A.J.'s lawn. Their mother Cecelia (Mary Carver) is often around. Myron (Eddie Barth) is their competitor who gives them tips for a fee, This version is introduced by Magnum, P.I. (Tom Selleck).
Jameson Parker had previously been on One Life to Live.
Janet (Jeannie Wilson) is Myron's Daughter and Assistant D.A.
James Watt was Reagan's secretary of the interior. Dan Fouts was a football player in San Diego.
Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin, two swinging Czech brothers, were recurring characters in the original Saturday Night Live cast.
