Movie about Fast Eddie Felson (Paul Newman), the younger pool shark challenging older pool hustler Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason). His acquaintances are George C. Scott and Piper Laurie. Here it's stickball instead of pool.

a: Mort Drucker The Color of Money was a sequel to The Hustler, a film that had come out 25 years earlier. In that Fast Eddie (Paul Newman) was a cocky young pool player taken under the wing of Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason). In this, Newman is now the older guy and Vince (Tom Cruise) is the protege. Gleason was 56 when The Hustler was made. Newman was 61 when this came out. Tom Cruise is now 59. This means we're due for a third movie soon of Tom Cruise teaching Michael Cera or Jesse Eisenberg the ropes. It can end like Return of the Jedi with the ghosts of Gleason and Newman looking on at the final outcome. I'm ready for my check any day now.
This was a two-pager teamed with parodies of Peggy Sue Got Married and Jumpin' Jack Flash.
All kinds of references to the movies Paul Newman and Tom Cruise were in.
George C. Scott is a bettor because he had been in The Hustler. Again with the Hirschfield-esque caricature of Hume Cronyn.
The thing I remember most about this movie was they were always playing this annoying song on the radio in the kitchen when I was a dishwasher during my senior year of high school.
