Medical drama before the genre evolved into shows about doctors' personal and love lives. Konrad Styner (Richard Boone) hosted this series that had a different story each week of a person undergoing a medical operation. Every week Dr. Styner would introduce the story showing an item that was the basis for it.
The crest on the desk in the real life version of the story is how they begun each program symbolizing the medical profession. The cartoon character in the dramatized version is Peter Pain, mascot for Ben-Gay (see below).
This differed from other medical shows in that it showed the operation itself, with the narrator explaining the procedure.
Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? was a Broadway play at that time before becoming a movie the next year.
