Adaptation rather than parody, but somewhat fits with what we're doing here.

National Lampoon's follow-up to Animal House, their descent from one the most successful comedies of all time to one of the least successful of all time. When a trailer gives no clue as to what the movie is about and doesn't even feature any of the actors, it's a sign nobody had any faith in advance. Presumably they planned to foist this on the public by making them think it was a sequel to Animal House. It appears National Lampoon didn't even want people to know the movie existed and it didn't even meet what was then a low point for their editorial standards, running this promotional comic in their sister magazine Heavy Metal instead.

The plot, in a nutshell, is that back in high school, Walter Baylor (Blackie Dammett, father of Flea) is told at a party that the prom queen is across the field and wants to give him a handjob, but the condition is that they must wear bags over their heads because she's shy. When it's over, they take off the bags and he finds the girl is really his twin sister, and the whole class is there laughing at this prank. Ten years later, he has been driven insane by this and when he is invited to his high school reunion, he vows revenge on everyone and starts killing them off there (the actors shown here are Gerrit Graham, Stephen Furst, Shelley Smith, Art Evans, Fred McCarren, and Mews Small). The twin sister doesn't appear later at all so does that mean she was in on the prank?

I've always said National Lampoon up to 1975 was the only Lampoon that counts. After that most of the original staff left and they went into a steep decline. Except for most of the original cartoonists like Shary Flenniken and Gahan Wilson, and new blood like Mimi Pond and B. K. Taylor, the front section was a pale imitation. They started to get bitter about how Saturday Night Live was a watered-down version of what they were trying to achieve. In the late 70s it looked like the old Lampoon and had its moments, but was more about “show us your tits” and “foreigners smell”. Sure, the original incarnation offended everyone too but now it seemed more hateful and partisan.

In the eighties, it jumped the shark even further, with every other issue having some kind of Back to School Summer Sex theme and becoming more of an R-rated version of MAD, even going so far as to parody movies and TV sometimes. Case in point is this Bewitched parody. It still has nice Berni Wrightson art.

The idea here is that Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) and Endora (Agnes Moorehead) aren't just magic witches like on TV. Gladys Kravitz (Alice Pearce/Sandra Gould) is spying on them.

Samantha and Endora perform ceremonies like witches really do in literature.

Gladys' eyes melted seeing this, and she must tell her husband Abner (George Tobias).

Endora and Samantha must go thru drastic measures to get rid of the plague of toads in their house. Meanwhile, at Darrin(Dick York/Dick Sargent)'s office...

Sam and Endora are visited by a girl scout selling cookies and sacrifice her to get rid of the toads while an angry mob descends on them. And Darrin comes home only to be included in the witch-burning.

From The Milking of the Planet that Went Ape. Up to then, Planet of the Apes and James Bond were the only two film franchises in existence. There had been things like Charlie Chan or Bulldog Drummond before that but not really on a big budget. MAD parodied all four (at that time) Planet of the Apes films in one seven-page article. This was their take on Beneath the Planet of the Apes. It was just these panels.

Nova (Linda Harrison), the woman on the horse, is mute throughout the whole film.

MAD's version didn't have Linda Harrison as Nova, which wasn't a speaking part, or Charlton Heston as Taylor.
