Yesterday, this blog looked at the movie, which was about how Elliott Ness assembled a group that brought down Al Capone. The series was also based on Ness' memoirs, but veered off into fiction as it was about how Ness (Robert Stack) stayed on with the Department of the Treasury and fought Frank Nitti (Bruce Gordon), who took over Capone's empire, and other gangsters, real and made up.

Jack Davis had his own humor comic for a couple issues through Dell's tryout series Four Color Comics, and probably didn't write the material himself.
The Lawless Years was a police show set in the twenties that existed prior to this.

The show was narrated by journalist Walter Winchell.
Jerry DeFuccio was an editor at MAD for a long time but was always good friends with John Severin and contributors to competing magazines, and when he was eventually let go by MAD became editor at Cracked for a while. And The Untouchables was one of many movies and TV shows that got complaints from Italian-Americans for stereotyping them.

Anthology show that took place on location mainly on the eponymous highway between Chicago and Santa Monica. It starred two guys, Tod (Martin Milner), and Buz (George Maharias), traveling along the open highway, but the stories and host would basically stand alone with them being the anchor characters.
The comic strip Mary Worth was similar in theme and set-up.

Michael Anthony (Marvin Miller) was assistant to 'The Millionaire', who on that show of the same name, gave someone different a million-dollar check each week.

Anthology show that began each week with Michael Anthony (Marvin Miller) introducing each show, telling the audience how he gave a million dollar check to a random stranger on behalf of John Beresford Tipton, and each week the body of the program had a different story showing what each person did with that million dollars.
The final sentence of the spoof introduction is from Dragnet.

THE ZILLIONAIRE

w & a: Stosh Gillespie (Daniel Clowes)
This was one of the very first venues for Clowes before Lloyd Llewelyn and Eightball, and becoming one of the biggest names in comics. He was a longtime friend of Cracked editor Mort Todd and lore has it that the publisher hated his art, but when he submitted work in later issues, he used a pen name and the publisher said nothing and didn't even realize it was the same person.
The Uggly Family was a recurring feature in Cracked in the eighties and it was obvious the staff cared more about older fare than the juvenile properties their audiences related to and tried to work them in at any opportunity.
BEAT THE CLUCK

Beat the Clock was a game show in various formats where contestants had to win prizes while a clock ticked in the background.
It was combined with The Millionaire, an anthology series with a different story involving a random person getting a check for a million dollars. In the article Combined TV Shows, in MAD #47, June 1959. by Paul Laikin and Mort Drucker
