WHO DE-FAMED ROBBER RABBIT?

Film noir that was a big hit for its many cameo appearances by characters from cartoons from the 30s-50s from different studios. It took place in 1947, with detective Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) reluctantly taking the case of animation studio head R. K. Maroon (Alan Tilvern) who suspects the reason for his star performer Roger Rabbit (Charles Fleischer)'s poor performance is that his wife Jessica (Kathleen Turner) is having an affair with Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye). Eddie photographs the evidence, submits it to Roger, the next day Marvin is murdered. Roger has been set up and goes to Eddie to clear his name and this leads a plot by Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) of Toontown, the town where all the cartoon characters live, to destroy the area to make room for a freeway. Eddie, who previously hated 'toons', learns to appreciate them.
The MAD parody is about what was supposed to have happened after the story ended.
The character sitting on the curb is Baby Herman, Roger Rabbit's co-star, who acts like a baby on film, but is a talking adult who smokes when off the set. George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis were the main Presidential candidates of 1988.
'Patty cake' was what Jessica and Marvin were caught doing and literally that, not any actual sexual act. “I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way” was Jessica's tagline in the movie.
Benny, also voiced by Charles Fleischer, was Roger's taxi in the movie's big chase scene. Alfred Hitchcock is always shorthand for “movie director” when it's not Erich Von Stroheim. Mommie Dearest was a book written by Joan Crawford's daughter about how cruel she apparently was.
Howard the Duck, one of the first movies based on a Marvel character before the Marvel Universe was conceived for Hollywood, was considered one of the biggest flops of the 80s. I never saw it. Maybe in retrospect it wasn't as bad as people say it was.

The lower left has Fox and the Crow which had few cartoons in the series and was already discontinued 40 years before this. There was a long-running comic book adaptation of it but even that was over long before most readers of this would have been born.
The weasel with the steamroller was one of Judge Doom's minions in the movie. Magilla Gorilla, next to Mickey and Donald, might be known by some.

Elmer Fudd narrates the parody. Steven Spielberg wasn't the director. He may not even have been on the set. He was executive producer which could mean a lot of things.
Eddie spent a lot of time at a bar. The waitress was Joanna Cassidy.
Judge Doom had a solution called Dip, which was essentially ink remover, that he planned to execute Roger with.
Eddie hates Toons because one killed his brother. As he's about to be killed, Judge Doom reveals that he was that Toon, which is all Eddie needs to snap out of his hatred, turn the tables, and regain his sense of humor.
Disney release a few Roger Rabbit cartoons with their full-length movies in their attempt to bring cartoons back to theaters.

At top secret government site NORAD, Dr. McKittrick (Dabney Coleman) is trying to sell the general (Barry Corbin) on the WOPR an artificial intelligence system that will figure out various strike possibilities to defeat the enemy. In Seattle, David Lightman (Matthew Broderick) is showing his classmate Jennifer (Ally Sheedy) how he can hack into the school's computer system and change his grade in science, and he can change hers if she wants. He hacks into what he thinks are advance copies of the new video games but the WOPR system developed by Stephen Falker (John Wood), who originally named the system after his son Joshua.
At NORAD, the system has been hacked, and it appears they are on the brink of a nuclear invasion. They figure out that it was David Lightman who hacked into their system, track him down, and arrest him. He's brought to NORAD and locked in a room, but escapes on a bus touring NORAD.
Not just a Kramden cameo but Norton there in the manhole.
Having found out Steven Falker is still alive, David has found he's on a remote island off Oregon and the only one to save everyone from the brink of armageddon before the WOPR can figure out all the digits to the nuclear code. David and Steven direct the machine to play tic-tac-toe and throught that it realizes there are no possible winning outcomes.
In Germany, as well as other countries, everyone's always known who U.S. Leaders are but it doesn't seem to work the other way around.
MAD only had 3½ pages to work with but even with twice that Cracked didn't adapt much more.
WAR GAINS

The movie began with NORAD taking workers through war games to show what went on there before the WOPR was fully developed.
David found out he was the one who hacked in the system by watching the news. He disposed of everything hoping he wouldn't be caught he was arrested before it was too late.
Hawkner faked his own death and isn't interested in helping anymore since he feels death is inevitable. They covince him as the earth verges on Defcon 1. It's a scale of how safe we are with Russia with 5 being the safest.

Top Gun is the name of an elite class of the navy's top 1 percent of fighter pilots. Despite disobeying orders, Maverick (Tom Cruise) saved a life, and he and his best friend Goose (Anthony Edwards) are promoted to Top Gun. In the class is rival fighter Ice (Val Kilmer) and his friend Slider (Rick Rossovitch), and thet're all taught by Viper (Tom Skerritt). The civilian instructor is Charlie (Kelly McGillis), who Maverick tried to hit on the previous night, not knowing who she was.
Maverick's father was also a fighter pilot missing in action and he's there because he has something to prove.
Charlie is attracted to Maverick because of his ego and how he breaks the rules. She's a few years his senior, but they begin a romantic relationship. During a maneuver, Goose is killed in an accident, which Maverick feels is his fault and he loses confidence. The court clears him, and Viper, who knew Maverick's father, tells Maverick he died a hero, and Maverick needs to get back in there.
Ice wins trophy as top pilot, and Maverick congratulates him, but they have to stop the celebrations short to fight in actual combat. Mavrick steps up and wins for the team, and he and Ice are no longer rivals.
The same issue had a Don Martin strip about the movie as well
And there were different covers for the Mexican edition
And the German one. The American MAD had a similar cover with Hulk Hogan around the same time and a Rambo parody in another issue. They must have been in this issue.
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: SECRET OF THE OOZE (1991)

Keno (Ernie Reyes Jr.) is delivering pizzas and encounters a burglary and decides to fight the robbers with his advanced martial arts knowledge. He gets in over his head and is stopped by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Raphael, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo. The robbers are part of the Foot Clan, led by Shredder (Francois Chau), who has been dormant in a garbage dump after being presumed dead in the first movie, and Tatsu (Toshishiro Obata), his sidekick.
The Turtles and their master Splinter are living with reporter April O'Neil (Paige Turco, a different actress than before) while looking for a new apartment. Splinter wants them to keep practicing the ninja art of invisibity, and to return to the sewers where they belong.
Vanilla Ice, who only appears at the end of the movie, narrated this parody.
Shredder wakes up from the dump where he was left off, April is covering Techno Global Research Industries, which has pledged to clean up pullution there. She interviews Professor Jordan Perry (David Warner) about a toxic waste leak at that dump which has grown large plants there. Jordan has isolated a sample of that waste which happens to be the Ooze from which the TMNT originated. Now Shredder wants it and the Foot Clan are fighting to get it.
Perry was kidnapped and brought to Shredder's hideout and forced to use the Ooze on a snapping turtle and wolf, which creates Tokka and Rahzar.
