Beginning of what's known as “tabloid television”, more the equivalent of gossip newspapers like National Enquirer. It began with a seemingly spring-loaded pyramid flying towards the camera and going “Eeeeeooo-WHOOM”.
The show was hosted by Maury Povich. Often they profiled celebrities such as Roseanne Barr.
On the last page, in the first panel, I think the guys in the car are Tom Selleck and his sidekicks from Magnum P.I. I don't know why, since the show was off the air by that point; but then, I also don't know why the car's door has a picture of a tooth on it, or why the Beatles are tiny, or...
