TIN-RIN-RIN-TIN-RIN

THE ADVENTURES OF RIN-TIN-TIN
1954-1959 ABC

TIN-RIN-RIN-TIN-RIN
Trump #1, January 1957
w: Harvey Kurtzman
a: Jack Davis

Childrens' show about Rusty (Lee Aker), an orphan boy, who's been adopted by Lieutenant Ripley Masters (James E. Brown) and their adventures at Fort Apache with his dog, Rin-Tin-Tin, who's been made a Private. Other cavalry soldiers included Sgt. Biff O' Hara (Joe Sawyer) and Randy Brooks (Rand Boone).

  1. 1) Rin-Tin-Tin was sort of like Lassie in that he was a big movie dog and then when he died, other dogs inherited the name. The TV show was the fourth one.

    2) "Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood" was sort of a parody of the craze of the original Rin-Tin-Tin in the twenties. Guest-stars a gajillion people from old show-biz. (The owners of Mr. Tin sued the movie.)
