BILL AND TED'S BIG BUDGET JOURNEY
Cracked #268, December 1991
w:Vic Bianco (Lou Silverstone)
a: John Severin

In the previous film, Bill and Ted have made the future perfect by getting an A+ on their history report, now they must stop DeNomolos (Joss Ackland) from taking over in the future by winning Battle of the Bands. After establishing what might happen in the future, we see them in the present auditioning in front of the woman organizing the show (Pam Grier).
They propose to the princesses they met when they went back to medieval England in their previous movie who are also in their band. Meanwhile, as part of DeNomolos' plan to take over the world, he sends evil versions of Bill and Ted to kill them, replace them, and create mayhem in 1991. As the real Bill and Ted try to escape, they fall down a cliff and meet the Grim Reaper (William Sadler).
They try to outwit the Grim Reaper by telling him his shoes are untied and pushing him down when he looks, then run home. Ted's father, the chief of police, is briefing his men about handling security for Battle of the Bands that night. As part of Bill and Ted's plan, they try to possess the police. Ted father is married to Missy (Amy Stock-Poynton), a woman only three or four years older than Bill and Ted. The possession doesn't work and they end up in Hell.
The Grim Reaper will let them live again if they beat him at a game, spoofing The Seventh Seal. They beat him so he withdraws and decides best two out of three, then three out of five etc.
Admitting defeat, the Grim Reaper lets them live, they get past the gates in Heaven to meet the smartest beings in the universe to help them with their final plan at the hardware store on earth.

The Battle of the Bands is going on with evil Bill and Ted about to ruin everything and change the future, when robots that the real Bill and Ted built with the genuises and the Grim Reaper defeat them. Wyld Stallyns, with the Grim Reaper now joining them, have won Battle of the Bands and are on the cover of every major magazine and newspaper in the country.

  2. There was a while, right after they poached Don Martin, that they were taking a lot of potshots at MAD.
