CRAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
MAD #231, June 1982
w: Stan Hart
a: Mort Drucker
From the article MAD's Academy Awards Show. The category was "Kids Movies That the Kids Couldn't Even See Because They Were Rated 'R'". The article also had the category of "performer who took the greatest risk with his or her career" where this could have fit in too, since the father was played by veteran actor Glenn Ford.
Happy Birthday to Me came out around the time of the slasher craze of the 80s (video nasties in the UK) and starred Melissa Sue Anderson as a high school student whose invitees to her birthday party get killed (Spoiler: she did it). A running joke in the article was that the actor accepting an award would get it snatched up by Faye Dunaway coming on stage in her role as Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest.
