THEN CAME BRONSON

THEN CAME BOMBSOME
MAD #135, June 1970
w: Dick DeBartolo
a: Angelo Torres
This was a rarity for MADas they almost never parodied shows that lasted only one season. It was about Jim Bronson (Michael Parks) who decided to drop out of society and seek adventure and experience life riding his motorcycle throughout the country. It's sort of adjacent to the “man on the run” genre in that it's sort of an anthology centered on the main character. Coinidentally, this was in the same issue as their parody of Easy Rider, which had a similar premise.
The mother is Anne Bancroft as Mrs. Robinson. And I think the daughter is Liza Minelli.
