BOBBY DEERFLOP
Sick #120, February 1978
w & a: Dave Manak

Story of a race-car driver (Al Pacino) who, while visiting Europe, meets an Italian woman Lillian (Marthe Keller) and falls in love with her unaware she's dying.

A friend and contemporary has been an accident and when visiting him in the hospital, comes to terms with his own mortality. As he's leaving, he meets Lillian who wants to ride with him. He doesn't realize she's facing mortality herself, and that is what makes her so impulsive.

(“Are you a homo?” is a quote from the movie, not the homophobia of the parody).

Lillian just decides to do things at the drop of a hat, like fly in a balloon with someone she just runs into in the woods. When Bobby finds out her erratic behavior has to do with her about to die, he decides to do everything for her.
