Tony Danza has bigger billing and he was more of a TV guy, so he would have made more sense. Danny DeVito became a bigger movie person than TV person even though he mostly does TV now. There's really no difference in movies or TV now since nobody I know even watches broadcast TV anymore, so a joke like this would no longer work. The important thing is DeVito is supposed to have a beard here.
