Part of the loosening of FCC standards during the Reagan era. Once it became acceptable to do animated series based on toys, shows like GI Joe, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, etc. came out of the woodwork in the early 80s.
Cover for the Mexican edition, even though there was never a full-length He-Man parody in the domestic MAD.
