MAKEUS SICKBY, M.D.
MAD #137, September 1970
w: Dick DeBartolo
a: Angelo Torres
Medical show about Dr. Welby (Robert Young) and his assistant Kiley (James Brolin). Welby was more free-wheeling and Kiley was the straight-laced one, the dichotomy typical of most medical shows, the difference here being that the older doctor was the looser one.
In this parody, the coach is a caricature of Jackie Gleason, and the referee is Don Rickles.
Then Came Bronson was also a show about a wanderer who rode a motorcycle.
The new father is a caricature of Hugh Hefner.
Father Knows Best was Robert Young's previous series.
