NIGHTLINE WITH TED KOPPEL
ABC 1980-2005
NIGHTLITE WITH KED TOPPEL
Cracked #234, March 1988
w: Steve Skeates
a: Frank Caruso
The show actually still exists but this was Ted Koppel's run. It was originally meant to compete with Carson and focused exclusively on the hostage crisis, but became ABC's late-night news show.
Twilight Zone and The Honeymooners were opposite Nightline with Carson and Letterman, but probably only in New York, so the background gag in the middle wouldn't make sense outside there.
Saturday Night Live took a shot at how Nightline would use the same footage over and over again.

TV news anchors have always been one of Harry Shearer's favorite targets, and he has parodied Nightline on his radio show, Le Show. When it came out in 2002 that ABC/Disney had secretly planned to ditch Nightline and poach David Letterman from NBC, Shearer did a sketch called LateNightLine, where Koppel was forced to do his show in Letterman's style.

Also, Mad kind of did Nightline in #254. It was in their "special rock issue", and had Koppel talking to Quincy Jones about music videos. The article only took a couple shots at the show, though, so it was a lot closer to being one of their typical 'interview' articles, "Mad's [fill-in-the-blank] of the Year", than to a parody.
