Series about four American and British soldiers stationed in the North African desert during World War II.

The title is a play on “The Rat Pack”, the nickname given to Frank Sinatra and his Las Vegas entourage in the 1960s. Lorna Doone was a romance novel and cookie brand.

The Rat Patrol members were Sgt. Sam Troy (Christopher George), Sgt. Jack Moffitt (Gary Raymond), Cpl. Mark T. “Hitch” Hitchcock (Lawrence P. Casey), and Pfc. Tully Pettigrew (Justin Tarr)

Bob Hope was known for his USO shows then.
