Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) is a limousine driver bringing Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly) to the airport for a trip to Aspen. Harry (Jeff Daniels) works for a dog-grooming business and is late delivering pets to a client.
Mary's husband is being held for ransom and she has left a briefcase with the money for her captors. Lloyd doesn't realize this and think she just forgot a briefcase and runs after her to return it to her, not realizing the plane has already taken off, and falling onto the runway, which gets him fired. He returns home to find Harry has also been fired for making dogs carsick. Mental (Mike Starr) and Shay (Karen Duffy), the captors, go to their house to get the money, and Harold and Lloyd flee thinking it is a debt collector. Mental enters their home when they're gone and looks for the money.

Harold and Lloyd return home and decide to travel to Aspen. On the road Mental poses as a hitchhiker to "take care of" them after they pick him up. On a stop at a restaurant, when he gets up they put peppers in his burger as a joke.
Mental takes a bite and it makes his ulcer act up. Harold and Lloyd think they're saving him by giving him medication, but it's actually rat poison pills he planned to use on them. They're unaware that they killed him and continue on their journey. There's a scene they don't use here where Harold falls asleep and Lloyd makes a wrong turn, Harold decides to walk back home, and Lloyd comes to get him, now on a minibike he traded for the van (they must have edited out a scene). They get to Aspen and get into a fight when Harold finds out Lloyd had extra gloves all along. In the scuffle, Harold threatens to throw the briefcase in the river, it falls open, they see it's full of money, and they decide to spend it all.

They've given up on finding Mary but find out she's hosting a charity ball that evening. Harold acts as wingman talking Lloyd up and ends up being the one to take her out, so Lloyd takes revenge by putting laxatives in Harold's coffee.

There's also a montage of the ski date they don't use here, where Mary playfully throws a snowball at him and he thinks it's being done maliciously, so he wails one back at her. He also manages to get his tongue stuck to a flagpole.

Lloyd returns the briefcase to Mary, which is now filled with IOUs. He tells her that he loves her and is politely turned down because she is married. The people behind the kidnapping are there and see that the money is gone and are about to kill Harold and Lloyd but everyone is saved by the FBI at the last minute. They walk back home.
This issue of Cracked had a few other Dumb and Dumber tie-ins, like this article by Randy Epley and Rurik Tyler.
And this back cover.
UPDATE:
Cover to British version. MAD never parodied Dumb and Dumber except in an article about Jim Carrey. Either they reprinted that or did an all-original parody.
