Doogie Howser (Neil Patrick Harris is a teenage doctor. The show always began with newspaper clippings establishing how he became a child prodigy

The doctor with the saw is Howie Mandel, back when he had hair, and started on the medical drama St. Elsewhere

Doogie's best friend Vinnie (Max Casella) was a normal teenager, and thus horny all the time. References are made to other TV and movie doctors throughout.

His father (James B. Sikking) also was a doctor at the hospital. Half of the show took place with Doogie at home with his father and mother (Belinda Montgomery). Doogie has a girlfriend Wanda (Lisa Dean Ryan) who appears later.

Mr.Glitz is Chic Glitz, a character writer DeBartolo sometimes played in ad parodies.

The lawyers here are the legal team from L. A. Law. He ended every show by typing on his computer what he learned in that episode.
