THE DORIS DAZE SHOW
MAD #140, January 1971
w: Stan Hart
a: Angelo Torres
Sitcom for longtime Hollywood star Doris Day, when TV was considered a place for actors once they were considered too "washed up" to be in the movies. Changed every season, this parodied the second.
Doris Martin was widowed and living in Mill Valley, CA with her two sons and father (Denver Pyle), commuting to work in San Francisco.
Picture in first panel is of Rock Hudson, co-star of many romantic comedies with Doris Day.
Doris' boss at Today's World magazine is Mr. Nicholson (McLean Stevenson).
Her co-worker is Myrna (Rose Marie)
Debbie Reynolds had an eponymous sitcom that only lasted a year.
The bank president's gigantic eyebrows make me wonder if he's meant to be Robert Morley.
