DONNIE AND MARIE
1976-1979 ABC
THE DUMMY AND MAREEK SHOW
MAD #200, July 1978
w: Dick DeBartolo
a: Angelo Torres
From the variety show days, the youngest members of the Osmond family.
Almost every celebrity that ever existed in the 70s guest starred, most often they had nothing in common and were put in sketches together. The show opened with the Ice Angels.
"I'm a Little Bit Country, I'm a Little Bit Rock n Roll" was their big hit.
Sometimes one of their brothers would guest on the show.
From the article TV Spinoffs Yet to Come in MAD #206, April 1979 by Tom Koch and Harry North, Esq.
There was a short-lived cartoon of the Osmonds.
DARNY & MERRIE
Crazy #28, August 1977
w: Fred Wolfe (Paul Laikin)
a: Murad Gumen
That is David Cassidy trying to get on the show.
The show was produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, who did a show called H. R. Pufnstuf, who is asking for an appearance.
Sometimes names of the characters in parodies are different from panel to panel, but never in the same panel.
Howard Cosell doesn't look that much like Mole Man but I guess they had to make a reference since Marvel published Crazy.
REAL GONE HAWAIIAN GOON
National Lampoon, May 1983
w: Kevin Curran
a: Bob Camp
