From the fifties to the eighties the biggest fear in America was that the atom bomb would be dropped on them at any time. This made-for-TV movie about how a small town was affected by such a situation, which you can see above, helped fan the flame of those fears and was even required watching in some schools, where classrooms had a new technology that year called VCRs.
