POLICE LADY

POLICE WOMAN
NBC 1974-1978

POLICE LADY
Cracked #128, October 1975
a: John Severin

Series about undercover officer Pepper Anderson (Angie Dickinson) who worked at the L.A.P.D. One of her partners was Pete Royster (Charles Dierkopf) and her supervisor was Bill Crowley (Earl Holliman)
Leave it to Cracked to perpetuate their “woman's place is in the kitchen” stance. Continuing with another kind of insensitivity that existed in the seventies, here's a page from one of their Fonzploitation articles, If the Fonz Guest Starred on Other Shows, from #137, November 1976, illustrated by Don Orehek.
I had some hesitation about posting the Fonz in blackface, but:
a)I'm not the one who drew it
b)I've posted (and may post) worse

POLICE WOE-MAN
Sick #108, February 1976
w: Len Herman
a: Jerry Grandenetti

Not sure what the portraits of Edward G. Robinson, Boris Karloff, and Humphrey Bogart have to do with anything.

  1. Sick did another take on this show in #122. It barely made any sense, but it gave Jack Sparling another excuse to draw a little cheesecake.
