LITTLE ARTIE'S SCOUTS

ARTHUR GODFREY'S TALENT SCOUTS
1948-1958 CBS How are ya how are ya how are ya? Here's one of our oldest parodies. This show was kind of the Star Search of its time. Okay, that's outdated too. The America's Got Talent of its time. Variety show hosted by TV personality Arthur Godfrey. LITTLE ARTIE'S SCOUTS
Eh! #2, February 1954
a: Dick Ayers

GARTER GADFLEA AND HIS FRIENDS
Nuts! 3, July 1954
a: Hy Fleishman

Hy Fleishman was one of the only artists for Premier Magazines, a company that only lasted about a year, and did work for their war, horror and romance as well as humor.
The other performers are The Mariners, Janette Davis, Haleloke , and Julius La Rosa.
Arthur Godfrey had a reputation for having one of the worst tempers in show business. MAD contributor (and probably reading this right now) Drew Friedman did this strip a few decades ago for Heavy Metal.

  1. Bob & Ray used to do Arthur Godfrey parody skits. The running gag was the plugs for stuff that was given to the audience. Bob Elliott played Arthur Godfrey
