THE MESSOCIATES
Sick Special #2, 1980
a: Jack Sparling

A very short-lived sitcom of note since it was the first work of Martin Short before being in the cast of SCTV and produced by Taxi creators James L. Brooks and Ed. Weinberger.

First-year lawyers Tucker (Short) and Eliot (Joe Regalbuto) worked at the law firm of Marshal Associates. Tucker was always trying to ask out Sara (Shelley Smith)
The head of the law firm (Wilfrid Hyde-White) has a new client.
He introduces her to the legal team.
To get her to want them to represent her, Mr. Marshal sets her up with Tucker, who doesn't know what's going on.
The rest of the associates are concerned about his welfare.
Mr. Marshal is there (no explanation of how he got there), showing how you never let a boy do a man's work.

  1. The names Maggie and Jiggs come from the main characters of the comic strip Bringing Up Father, and... was all that meant to be... sexy, somehow? Really? Those two made the Lockhorns look cuddly.
