MY THREE SONNYBOYS
MAD #142, April 1971
w: Arnie Kogen
a: Angelo Torres

The show was on for twelve seasons. Chip (Stanley Livingston) and Ernie (Barry Livingston) were two of the sons in the household presided over by Steven Douglas (Fred MacMurray) and live-in housekeeper Uncle Charly (William Demarest). Steven also had three grandchildren.
Robbie (Don Grady) was the eldest of the sons, married to Katie Miller (Tina Cole), and they were the parents of the triplets. Barbara (Beverly Garland) was Steven's wife and Dodie (Dawn Lyn) was her daughter, She was widowed because people could not be divorced on TV. This parody makes fun of how the show had been on so long it hadn't changed with the times. A criticism often given to MAD.
Towards the end, Chip was married to Polly (Ronne Troup)
The sons in the punchline are the Smothers Brothers, who had a hit series but were kicked off the air for being too irreverent.
