LOOK WHO'S SQUAWKING
MAD #295, June 1990
w: Dick DeBartolo
a: Angelo Torres
The opening credits show the sperm fertilizing an egg. Mollie (Kirstie Alley) rushes to the hospital to give birth, rushed there by cab driver James (John Travolta). Albert (George Segal), who Mollie had an affair with, has made it clear he is not going to help raise the child.
John Travolta's shirt is a reference to his film Urban Cowboy.
The baby is voiced by Bruce Willis. Mollie keeps running in to James. Mollie is constantly trying to find a suitable hather for the child. Her friend is Rona (Twink Caplan).
As Mollie and James see more of each other they become closer friends. It becomes clearer that Albert's no good.
References abound on this page. The button on Mollie's mother (Olympia Dukakis) is wearing is a reference to her nephew Mike Dukakis, the 1988 Democratic Presidential candidate. The baby's onesie is a reference to the character Bruno that Bruce Willis played in a TV mockumentary about a blues singer making a comeback. The button on James' grandfather (Abe Vigoda) mentions his character in The Godfather and his TV series Fish. The caption from the Enterprise refers to Alley's character in Star Trek II. George Segal was in Where's Poppa. Bruce Willis was married to Demi Moore.
Mikey, the baby, walks out into the street, looking for a father. James goes out to help find him and it's decided he's the one.
In the last panel are Willis' co-stars from Die Hard and Moonlighting.
Here was the cover to the German edition.
In the last panel, the guy with the Producer name tag is Glenn Gordon Caron, creator of Moonlighting.
