LOVE AT FIRST FRIGHT

LOVE AT FIRST BITE (1979)
dir: Stan Dragoti

CRAZY INTERVIEWS THE NEWEST MOVIE DRACULA
Crazy #54, September 1979
w: Rico Tallar (Paul Laikin)
a: Walter Brogan
Orville Fenderlob, a character they'd used before, was a different likeness each time, here he's a caricature of John Belushi, fresh from his popularity from Saturday Night Live and Animal House.

Love at First Bite was an update of the Count Dracula legend, in which Dracula (George Hamilton) is evicted from his home in Transylvania, moves to New York, and meets his old love reincarnated as a model. This article was written before the release of the movie to cash in on its believed success.

The big scene in The Godfather was that a movie producer woke up to find his horse's severed head in his bed as a message from the mob.
Arte Johnson played Renfield.
And as usual with Crazy, you can see some of the images were Drucked.
I hate pointing out swipes by Walter Brogan and Kent Gamble all the time, they're not that much older than me. I've seen Brogan's work outside these magazines and it looks nothing like this. Gamble worships Mort Drucker more than fundamentalists worship Christ. I understand the hardship of a tight deadline and not giving your all for a small paycheck, but sometimes it's just so... so... shameless.
