THE INVASIONERS

THE INVADERS
ABC 1967-1968

THE INVADERS
MAD #119, June 1968
w: Lou Silverstone
a: Jack Davis

Kind of a combination of The Fugitive and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. David Vincent (Roy Thinnes) witnesses an alien landing one night while parked by a roadside, and travels around the country trying to warn everyone aliens live among us while simultaneously on the run from them. The aliens have tell-tale signs of their existence such as body parts, the same way some devil legends conceal he his hoof.
Often he tries to track down others who know of the landing but either won't cooperate or can't be found.

At least one gay man was on staff, allowing them to get away with “sissy” jokes. Being pre-Stonewall helped too.

Sometimes David actually located them and had to escape them before they could abduct him and before he could turn them in.
He had a few allies in the military.
This was Lyndon Johnson's actual agenda when he was President.
